Former football star Michael Strahan has busy mornings ahead of him!
The Live with Kelly and Michael co-host confirmed on the show this morning he will be joining the number one rated morning program part-time, and sources insist he is not replacing Josh Elliott, whose departure was announced on Sunday.
When pressed by Kelly Ripa about his new role, the 42-year-old shared, "I had a meeting, and we talked about the possibility there, and then I went to see Captain America with Samuel L. Jackson and I get out of screening and I check my messages and I'm on 'Good Morning America.'"

But Michael insists the gig won't distract him from his true "home."
"I just want everyone to know and [Kelly] to know that no matter what, this is my number one priority, and you [Kelly] are my number one priority, and I would never do anything to jeopardize the quality of what I do here," said the former New York Giants defensive end.
Following the speech, Kelly quipped, "That is exactly how we rehearsed it backstage."

Though details have not been finalized, Michael is expected to appear in the first hour of the show, which runs between 7 and 8:15 a.m.
"I don’t think I could do it every day. I have a lot going on. I have to be smart about it," the father-of-four admitted.
Meanwhile, Josh Elliott is now an anchor over at rival network NBC. It was immediately announced on Monday that Amy Robach would take his spot as full-time co-host.
