Kym Johnson is finally opening up about her Dancing with the Stars romance with Robert Herjavec!

“We were friends first, and we got to know each other on a friendship level; I think that’s really important,” the 39-year-old dance pro told People in a new interview. “That developed into something else, and it’s really great. We’re both each other’s number one fans, and have respect for each other.”

Robert, 53, and Kym first met when they were paired as dance partners on Season 20 of DWTS in 2015. Though they didn’t take home the Mirror Ball Trophy — they were eliminated in the competition’s eighth week — the pair did walk away from the show with a lasting romance! After weeks of speculation, Kym confirmed their relationship in September 2015.

The Shark Tank star was previously married to Diane Plese for nearly 25 years before announcing their divorce in March 2015. The former couple are parents to three children: daughters Caprice and Skye and son Brendan.
