Kim Cattrall may look confident playing Samantha onscreen in Sex and the City, but offscreen the actress says she was totally intimidated by the role.
"[Samantha Jones] scared the life out of me," the 58-year-old actress revealed in a new interview on 'Today.'
Kim also said she turned down the part on the hit HBO series — which ran from 1998 to 2004 — several times before finally committing to starring on the show alongside Sarah Jessica Parker (Carrie), 49, Kristin Davis (Charlotte), 49, and Cynthia Nixon (Miranda), 48.

During the sit-down, the star hinted that a third 'Sex and the City' movie might be possible in the future. "I don't know. As I said earlier, I never say never anymore. Things have happened in my life that I've never expected, so never say never," she said.
And though the actress noted she is still often recognized on the street by fans of the show, she admitted she's flattered that people are still so in love with the series.

"I see it as the most wonderful compliment that people remember the character and love the show and just really remember it as a time that was cherished about really learning what it is to be human and what it is to be female today," she added.
