Who wouldn’t love to see a bunch of adorable kids competing on Dancing With the Stars?! During an exclusive new interview with Closer Weekly, pro dancer Keo Motsepe revealed exactly what he thinks of the Dancing With the Stars Junior spin-off show. “I think it’s a good idea. I think it would be cool to have kids on DWTS, building a new generation and bringing a new generation to the dance world and what we do in ballroom dancing. We’re focusing on this season now and then we’ll see what happens,” he said via phone last week.

For now, we’ll just have to get excited for the upcoming, 12-week, all-athletes Season 26, which is set to premiere on Monday, April 30, at 8 p.m. EST on ABC. “I think it’s an amazing season, to have all athletes. I think for all the pros and I, the pressure is on because there are no actors or anything,” Keo told us.

“I think the competition is going to be so high and expectations from the viewers will be so high. In normal seasons, when you have 12 weeks of shows, you can help them grow and build them up. This one, I think all the athletes are going to look like the finale on Week 1. I’m excited about that,” he continued. This time around, Keo will dance with pro softball player Jennie Finch Daigle.

In additon to the newest all-athletes season and a spin-off featuring kid dancers, Keo thought it might be fun for DWTS to try more themed shows in the future. “I think if it’s only athletes, they have the same background, work ethic, and passion. They work hard in the same kind of field. When you have an actor and an athlete, the mentalities are very different,” he explained.

Keo also made clear he has so much respect for his partner’s willingness to work for that coveted mirrorball trophy. “I’m like, ‘Damn! She’s working! I love this.’ It’s not like, in two hours we’ll have it right. She’s like, full-on straight five hours. It’s so worth it because [everything] she’s doing she’s learning. There’s no, ‘I’ll do this tomorrow.’ It’s like, ‘You teach me. We’ll do it all right now,” Keo continued. We can’t wait to watch Keo and Jennie compete on the new season!
