LOL!Kelly Ripa Reveals Son Joaquin Brought a Book About a Stripper Pole to School
Bad parenting, Kelly Ripa?
The talk show host paid a visit to The Late Show on Wednesday, Feb. 22, where she revealed to host Stephen Colbert that his book, I Am A Pole (And So Can You!), got her youngest son, Joaquin, now 14, in trouble at school!
“I have a bone to pick with you about a book you sold on our show,” she told Stephen. The night before Stephen appeared on her morning talk show, Live with Kelly, in 2012, Kelly, 46, sent her then nine-year-old boy to class with the spoof children’s book, without realizing it was about a pole that tries to find its purpose in life — and ends up at a strip club!

“He goes to a school where the primary focus of the education is really learning how to read,” she said of her Joaquin, who has dyslexia. “If you master so many books, you can bring in a book of your choice and the teacher will read the book out loud to the class.”
Well, he later came home with a letter from the teacher. “He sends it back to me and says, ‘The teacher wouldn’t finish reading the book,'” she remembered.

Kelly says the teacher wrote, “‘I’m not sure if you had read this first,'” she recalled to the late night TV host. “And she said, ‘It’s a really funny book. I really tried to stick with it. But at a certain point, certain things aren’t appropriate for nine-year-olds.'”

Stephen tried to apologize to the mom-of-three, but she wouldn’t have any of it! “This is still the greatest school memory we have,” she confessed. “Nowadays, parents are so careful and they’re so good at parenting and I became that mom.” Too funny!
