Katie Holmes Shuts Down Clothing Line to Focus on Acting & Motherhood

Katie Holmes had her hands in too many pots!

The actress announced at the beginning of March that she was shutting down her fashion label Holmes & Yang after launching the brand in 2008.

But it has nothing to do with the rumored conflict between Holmes and partner Jeanne Yang. The brunette beauty simply doesn’t have time to accomplish it all!

“I loved every minute of my time working on Holmes & Yang,” she said of her time in the fashion industry. “I remained passionate about the design aesthetic we created, and am so happy with what Jeanne and I accomplished.”

For Holmes, the line was no longer a top priority for her. “I am now concentrating on acting and motherhood which did not leave the label the time and attention it deserved,” the mother explained, who has 7-year-old daughter Suri with ex-husband Tom Cruise.

“I’m really thrilled that the final showcase for Holmes & Yang is in Elle — I had a blast at my shoot for the magazine,” she shared. “It is fantastic to feel like it’s ending on a high.”

The former Dawson’s Creek actress is currently attached to star as a Manhattan socialite in an untitled ABC pilot, not much of a stretch for the NYC-based millionaire.
