Back in October 2011, Katie, 37, appeared on the hit sitcom — which ran from 2005 until 2014 — in the episode titled "The Slutty Pumpkin Returns" as the character Naomi.
Naomi is the long-lost love of Ted (played by Josh Radnor). The two met at a Halloween party 10 years prior, and when Ted spots her same pumpkin costume at the store, he tracks down the recent renters, and figures out who he deemed the Slutty Pumpkin is all because of the costume.

Once he reunites with Naomi, he realizes she is just as beautiful as she was all those years ago, and the two still have a big desire to hook up regardless of how much time has gone by! However, after some time dating, Ted begins to feel like something isn't right in the couple's relationship, however, he feels like he waited long enough for her so why not try to make it work.
Spoiler alert: they don't end up staying together because Katie only appeared in one uncredited episode of the show in 2013 after that episode. Bummer! Since then, the Dawnson's Creek alum has added series The Kennedys and Ray Donovan to her acting resume.

However, Katie has recently slowed down her career to be a mom to her 11-year-old daughter, Suri Cruise, whom she welcomed with ex-husband Tom Cruise in April 2006.
"This business is so unstable, and you never really know where you’re going to be... My child is the most important person to me, and her upbringing is paramount to my work right now," Katie said about being a mom in showbiz during a previous interview. "It’s very important that I’m present and she has a stable, innocent childhood. I feel so blessed to do what I do, but there’s nothing in the world better than watching your child succeed."
