Katie Couric isn't afraid to show her true self on social media!
The 59-year-old journalist took to Instagram on the early morning of Wednesday, Jan. 4 to share a candid mirror selfie of herself in her PJs before heading to the Today show.
"Day 3 of @TodayShow — time to make the donuts. #FirstMirrorSelfie #LastMirrorSelfie #OMG," Katie captioned the funny snapshot.
Savannah, 44, and her husband, Michael Feldman, welcomed their second child, a baby boy named Charley, on Friday, Dec. 9. The couple — who married in 2014 — are also parents to a two-year-old daughter, Vale.
Katie's return to Today also coincides with anchor Matt Lauer's 20th anniversary on the show. Katie and Matt, 59, previously co-hosted the hit daytime program together from 1991 until 2006. Her current week-long appearance on Today is Katie's first return to the show since she left a decade ago to join CBS Evening News.
"Talk about old home week! Looking forward to getting together with the gang and celebrating Matt's 20th anniversary on @TodayShow!" the mom-of-two captioned a throwback photo of herself with Matt on Instagram prior to her comeback.
Katie wasn't the only one excited about her return — her fans were quick to sing her praises on Instagram after the exciting announcement! "Katie, you are a natural. We need you back!" one person wrote, with another adding, "Just like yesterday! [Your] chemistry [with Matt] continues!"
Following her 2006 exit from Today, Katie — who has daughters Carrie, 20, and Ellie, 25, with late-husband Jay Monahan — worked for CBS News from 2006 until 2011 and ABC News from 2011 until 2014. She additionally hosted her own talk show, Katie, from 2012 to 2014.
