Prince William and Kate Middleton are in royal trouble!

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, both 34, have been subject to public criticism time and time again — but the parents-of-two are now catching judgement for their rather lavish lifestyle.

“Kate and William have come under fire for wasting millions of dollars in the refurbishment of Apartment 1A at Kensington Palace, but now they are not even living there,” says an insider. “They have also been criticized by other royals who work much harder than they do!”

The couple currently live at Anmer Hall in Norfolk with their two kids, son Prince George, 2, and daughter Princess Charlotte, 1, opposed to four hours north in London at the Kensington Palace. Queen Elizabeth, however, supports their choice to lead a normal life even though she believes that London would offer a better education for her great-grandchildren.

“The queen knows what William and [Prince Harry] went through in seeing their parents’ marital problems and she, as a grandmother, wants him and his family to be happy,” explains royals expert Anne Chertoff.
