According to a royal source, Kate Middleton, 34, had “no idea” her younger sister, Pippa Middleton, 32, was about to get engaged when Pippa’s boyfriend, James Matthews, popped the question on Sunday, July 17.

“[The news was] totally unexpected. She had no idea they were getting engaged so soon,” the insider told Us Weekly.
