The Duchess of Cambridge is getting candid about parenting!
Just a couple of days after celebrating her 35th birthday, Kate Middleton made her first public appearance of 2017 on Wednesday, Jan. 11 when she visited London's Anna Freud Centre for Children and Families.
There, she met with mothers who have gone through a program that helps them cope with abuse and addiction issues. And, during her visit, Kate made a very honest admission about being a mom to her own two kids, Prince George and Princess Charlotte.

"Parenting is tough," she told the group, according to People. "And with the history and all the things and the experiences you've all witnessed, to do that on top of your own anxieties, and the lack of support you also received as mothers... I find it extraordinary how you've managed actually. So, really well done."
Princess Kate visited the facility’s Early Years Parenting Unit, which provides resources to parents with children under the age of five, as part of her kids’ mental health campaign. Even though she’s a royal, Kate made sure the mothers knew that she could relate to some of their experiences as a busy mom to George, 3, and Charlotte, 1, whom she shares with her husband, Prince William.

Now that she's attended her first royal outing of 2017, Kate has quite an important year ahead of her. Sources exclusively revealed to Closer Weekly that the mom-of-two is set to begin preparing to one day become queen. Kate and William are already planning to move into Kensington Palace, where she’ll start prepping to become Queen Consort when William becomes king.
“In London, Kate will be able to get to official business more easily than when she was living at Anmer Hall in Norfolk,” an insider explained. “She has always made it clear that family comes first, but now her diary will also be full of official events.”
