It's been years sine Prince William proposed to his now-wife, Kate Middleton — and the Duchess of Cambridge's stunning engagement dress is still a highly coveted piece of royal fashion history!

Back in November 2010, Kate and William posed for their first official photos as a newly engaged couple at St James's Palace in London. For the special occasion, William's gorgeous fiancée wowed in a navy blue Issa frock that perfectly matched her sapphire engagement ring.

The pretty wrap dress — which then retailed for $535 — sold out in just 24 hours as royal fans quickly snatched up the frock to look just like Kate!

Five years after William popped the question, Kate's iconic engagement dress was again available to the public. British department store Harvey Nichols brought back the Issa "Phylis" frock in July 2015, but the long-sleeved dress again sold out almost instantly.

Since then, several fashion brands have created very similar looking dresses, proving Kate's classic engagement dress will basically be "in" forever. Now, you can purchase a $175 version — called the "Gisele" — from Monsoon.

Just a few weeks before the Duke and Duchess announced their engagement to the world, William got down on one knee and sweetly proposed to Kate during a getaway in Kenya. "It was a total shock when it came," Kate said at the time. "There’s a true romantic in [William]."

"As every guy out there will know, it takes a certain amount of motivation to get yourself going. So I was planning it and then it just felt really right out in Africa. It was beautiful," William said.

Kate's 18-carat sapphire and diamond engagement ring once belonged to William's late mother, Princess Diana. "Obviously, [my mom is] not going be around to share in all the fun and excitement, so this is my way of keeping her close to it all," the prince shared.

The royal couple later tied the knot in a lavish 2011 royal wedding. The pair have now been happily married for several years — and are even parents!
