It’s been 25 years (can you believe it?) since Julia Roberts and Richard Gere stole our hearts in Pretty Woman—and this past weekend, Vivian Ward (aka Julia) returned to the Beverly Wilshire Hotel to accept a coveted award!

The Oscar-winning actress and her husband, cameraman Danny Moder, were presented the Humanitarian Award at GLSEN’s Respect Awards by television writer Ryan Murphy, who exclaimed, “You know 25 years ago, ladies and gentlemen, she filmed Pretty Woman in this hotel. That’s a long time ago!” before handing Julia the award.

“And look at her now,” he continued. “Look what she’s done in 25 years.”

Julia sweetly quipped, “25 years is a long time, Ryan. Thanks for pointing that out.”

The actress then explained to the crowd that her “hot husband” was unable to make it to the event due to a previously scheduled work commitment.

“My husband was going to do the talking and he’s in Texas,” she said. “He’s my person, he’s that safe partner for me, the one that makes me feel like I can do anything and is there for me when I don’t accomplish my tasks and tells me that tomorrow is another day…I didn’t always have that person.”

“I want to energetically just pour my heart out to all the mothers of all the children who have suffered from this kind of bullying,” she added in reference to the organization’s recognition of individuals who work to ensure schools are safe for LGBT youth and their allies.
