The singer, 77, is "alert" and expected to make a full recovery after being found unconscious in her LA home on Tuesday, March 31, her reps confirmed on Tuesday evening.

"Joni is still in the hospital — but she comprehends, she’s alert, and she has her full senses. A full recovery is expected... As we all know, Joni is a strong-willed woman and is nowhere near giving up the fight. Please continue to keep Joni in your thoughts," a statement on Joni's official website read.

In the health update, the star's representatives additionally denied recent claims that Joni was in a coma and "so impaired as to be incapable of being assessed."

Though it is still unclear why Joni fell unconscious last month, the folk music icon previously revealed she suffers from Morgellons syndrome, a disorder where sufferers have delusional beliefs that their bodies are infested with insects, parasites, hairs or fibers.
"I have this weird, incurable disease that seems like it's from outer space, but my health's the best it's been in a while," she told the 'Los Angeles Times' in an April 2010 interview.
