Maybe Benjamin Travolta won't be following in his parents' acting footsteps after all.
After telling a cute anecdote about his four-year-old son on last night's episode of 'Late Show with David Letterman,' John Travolta asked for Benjamin to make his TV debut onstage — but the little one was not having it.

"Tonight, later, maybe, he could come on and say 'Hi' to you if it's okay... If you allow him to," the 'Grease' star, 61, asked host David Letterman, to which he responded "Bring him out now! Where's the kid? Bring the kid out!"

The cameras then panned to John's wife, Kelly Preston, 52, holding Ben as they walked through the show's backstage area. But as soon as the actress appeared on set, her son ran offstage!

"We tried," John — who is also dad to daughter Ella, 15, with Kelly — told the audience. "Sorry, Ben."
