Joan passed away at age 81 from cardiac arrest after undergoing a routine throat surgery.
Melissa, who recently made her Fashion Police debut, told Entertainment Tonight that she and her son Cooper, 14, scattered her mother's ashes at their family's favorite vacation spot in Wyoming.
"Coop and I took our annual family vacation to Wyoming. [The] first without my mom and scattered some of her ashes there so we can still be together every August as a family," she said.
