After bravely battling breast cancer for nine months, Joan Lunden is now in remission — and is enjoying every day to the fullest.
In a new interview with People, the 64-year-old TV star revealed she is finally starting to feel like herself again after undergoing intensive treatment.
"I just shaved my legs for the first time since a year ago. And I'm starting to get a little tiny bit of hair on my arms. When you've gone through this, you look at those things like, 'Am I normal again?' You kind of want to feel whole again," she told the magazine.

In June 2014, the mom-of-seven learned she had triple negative breast cancer after doctors found a lump in her right breast during a routine mammogram. Following her diagnosis, Joan underwent a lumpectomy, 16 rounds of chemotherapy and six weeks of radiation.

Through it all, Joan says her husband, Jeff Konigsberg, and her children have been her "rocks."
"[Jeff and I] had a good marriage anyway, but when you are threatened with the possibility of not having the other one, it's just allowed to see just what another person will actually do for you and how they will stand by you. It was huge," she said.
