Tumi Oguntala underwent a major lifestyle change while competing on season 15 of The Biggest Loser. But the 42-year-old is now ready for a new type of commitment: marriage.
The Clifton Park, N.Y., resident — who lost a whopping 175 pounds during her time on the show — goes wedding dress shopping on the brand new season of TLC's Say Yes to the Dress and receives the surprise of a lifetime when former trainer Jillian Michaels crashes the bridal appointment.
In a clip from the Oct. 10 season premiere, Oguntala is stunned and emotional at the sight of the 40-year-old, who tells her, "I said I'd always be here when you need me."
Veteran consultant Debbie Asprea even tears up while watching their reunion. "In all my 20 years working at Kleinfeld's, I never witnessed something so emotional."
After the enthusiastic greeting, Oguntala excitedly tells the camera, "I'm so happy she's here. She's been such a big part of my life for so long. Just that she would show up for me today like she always does. I'm just very moved, very touched."
Adds Jillian, "Seeing Tumi today is magical for me."
Starting out at 319 pounds on the hit weight loss competition, Oguntala lost nearly 100 pounds before her elimination in week 11. Working just as hard while away from the Biggest Loser ranch, she dropped another 77 pounds to win the $100,000 at home prize!
Now, as she prepares to walk down the aisle, Oguntala admits losing her mother to cancer at the age of 14 has made her somewhat of a commitment-phobe all these years."[I was] scared to start a family because of the fear that I, too, would leave young children behind," she revealed. Yet another hurdle the black-haired beauty has successfully overcome!
