As a talented TV and film actress, Jennifer Garner seemingly has it all — but the thing she most cherishes in life is family.
While appearing on The Today Show earlier this morning to promote her new movie, 'Danny Collins,' the 42-year-old star was overcome with emotion while talking about a recent photoshoot she did with her mom and two sisters.

"There's just nothing like sharing the spotlight or anything else with your sisters and your mom," she said of the images, which appeared in a recent issue of 'Southern Living' magazine. "It's always fun for me to get my sisters dolled up and my mom."

While speaking with Savannah Guthrie, the 'Alias' star revealed the unexpected tears were due to her mother, Patricia, being sick.
"I'm so sorry, my mom is under the weather and it's just so shocking — I didn't realize I would get so emotional," Jennifer said.

During her recent interview with 'Southern Living,' Jennifer — who is mom to Violet, nine, Seraphina, six, and Samuel, three, with husband Ben Affleck — the actress opened up about her traditional upbringing in West Virginia.
“Being the middle sister of these three girls is the relationship that defines me more than anything else. More than being my kids’ mother, more than being my husband’s wife, I’m first and foremost the middle Garner girl," she said before adding their mom is the person who continues to keep her family so grounded and connected today.
“We all talk on the phone a lot,” her mother, Patricia, told 'Southern Living.' “And they all talk to me. If they miss each other, I get them caught up.”
