Following the news that Valerie Harper is reportedly in a coma after falling unconscious earlier this week, the actress' former TV son Jason Bateman is sending his thoughts and prayers to the cancer-stricken star.
"I give her all my well wishes. I love Valerie. I hope she gets through it OK," the 46-year-old actor told Entertainment Tonight at the LA premiere of his new movie The Gift on Thursday, July 30.

On Thursday evening, ET reported the former Rhoda star was in a coma after falling unconscious before a performance of her musical Nice Work If You Can Get It in Maine on July 29. In January 2013, Valerie was given just months to live when she was diagnosed with leptomeningeal carcinomatosis, a deadly condition where cancer cells spread into the fluid-filled membrane surrounding the brain. She also successfully battled lung cancer in 2009.

After previously hearing of her diagnosis, Jason spoke out about the impact Valerie has had on both his life and career in a touching interview. "Valerie is someone that I've learned a great deal from. Not just comedically, but also in her ability to put whomever approached her, or worked with her, completely at ease with a laugh, and an energy that's intoxicating," he told ET in 2013.
