News first broke in May 2016 that Janet and her 42-year-old husband were expecting their first baby together. The singer's exciting announcement came just weeks after she canceled her world tour to instead start a family with Wissam.
"We're in the second leg of the tour, and there actually has been a sudden change. I thought it was important that you be the first to know. My husband and I are planning our family. So I'm going to have to delay the tour," Janet said in a video message posted to Twitter on the morning of Wednesday, April 6.
"Please, if you can try and understand it's important that I do this now. I have to rest up, doctor's orders. I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can," Janet's message continued.

Janet and Wissam — a Qatari business magnate — married in a private ceremony in 2012. The "Rhythm Nation" songstress was previously hitched to soul singer James DeBarge from 1984 until 1985 and to music video director René Elizondo, Jr. from 1991 to 2001.
In a previous interview, a source close to Janet revealed she was "super excited" to welcome her first baby at age 50. "[She] is doing extremely well. She actually feels very good about everything," the insider said.
Congratulations to Janet and Wissam on their new addition — we can't wait to see the adorable first photos of their baby boy, Eissa!
