Jane Fonda’s Kids Encouraged Her Split From Boyfriend Richard Perry (EXCLUSIVE)

Oh no! Jane Fonda’s surprise split from longtime boyfriend Richard Perry earlier this year was influenced by her three kids, a close friend revealed to Closer Weekly in an exclusive view.

“When her kids learned that Jane was no longer happy, they encouraged her to do whatever she had to do to make her life better,” a friend told Closer. Jane has three adult children. She welcomed daughter Vanessa Vadim, 49, in September 1968 with her first husband, screenwriter Roger Vadim, and son Troy Garity, 44, in July 1973 with her second husband, activist Tom Hayden. She and Tom also unofficially adopted daughter Mary Luana “Lulu” Williams, 49, in 1982.

The 9 to 5 star was additionally married to media mogul Ted Turner from 1991 until 2001. She then began dating record producer Richard in 2009.

The 79-year-old actress and Richard, 74, called it quits in late January after dating for eight years. “It’s a shift in the direction of our lives. I hate to say the romantic relationship is over. We’re definitely extremely good friends,” Richard said at the time of their separation.

“We do things together. We care about each other a great deal and as far as romantic relationships, that’s temporarily been put on the back burner because she, as you probably know, has rededicated herself to activism. We definitely have a great deal of love for each other,” he added.

Though Jane and Richard still have a friendly relationship today, a friend close to the actress told Closer she is looking forward to her future as a single woman. “She feels a new freedom as she starts over,” the pal said.

“Jane has rededicated herself to activism,” the friend added. “I think she is looking forward to a little ‘me’ time.”
