Nordstrom Removes Ivanka Trump’s Fashion Brand From Its Stores

Ivanka Trump won’t be happy about this one.

Nordstrom sadly announced on Thursday, Feb. 2 that they will drop her fashion brand from their stores this upcoming spring.

“We’ve said all along we make buying decisions based on performance. We’ve got thousands of brands — more than 2,000 offered on the site alone. Reviewing their merit and making edits is part of the regular rhythm of our business,” the department store said in a statement. “Each year we cut about 10 percent and refresh our assortment with about the same amount. In this case, based on the brand’s performance we’ve decided not to buy it for this season.”

This news comes amid the trend #GrabYourWallet, which was created in hopes shoppers would refrain from purchasing products linked to President Donald Trump, his family, or any of his donors.

Though the company claims this decision is not a result of that, at one point, they were selling a lot of Ivanka shoes. Today, only four pairs remain on their site, and they’re each marked down 4 percent.

Ivanka has yet to comment on the matter, however, just last month she announced she would step down from all her business responsibilities once Donald was sworn into office.

“When my father takes office as the 45th President of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company,” she wrote on Facebook in January.

“I have appointed Abigail Klem as president to lead my brand. She will work with a board of trustees to manage the strategic and day-to-day operations of the business; I am confident that under her leadership the company will continue creating smart, solution-oriented product, and content,” she continued. “My brothers will oversee The Trump Organization, and I know that in their capable hands the business will thrive.”
