In a new interview with 20/20, which aired on Thursday, Jan. 19, Ivanka Trump revealed she and her good friend, Chelsea Clinton, haven't spoken since Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton went head-to-head in the 2016 Presidential Election.
Despite her dad's big win, Ivanka, 35, claims she and Chelsea are still close, and she plans to ask her advice about her new role of First Daughter, a position Chelsea held from 1993 until 2001 when her father, Bill Clinton, served as President of the US.

“She’s been a friend of mine long before the campaign, of course will be a friend of mine after,” Ivanka said. “I haven’t spoken about the specific challenges about this next chapter with her just yet, but I intend to.”

In a previous interview with The View, Chelsea, 36, similarly acknowledged their strong bond. “We were friends long before this election; we will be friends long after this election,” she said in September 2016. “Our friendship didn't start in politics and it certainly is not going to end because of politics. I have tremendous respect for Ivanka. I love her family. She’s a working mom like I do. We have so much more in common than we have disagreement about.”

"When my father takes office as the 45th President of the United States of America, I will take a formal leave of absence from The Trump Organization and my eponymous apparel and accessories brand. I will no longer be involved with the management or operations of either company," Ivanka wrote on Facebook earlier this month.
"I'm going to be a daughter. But I've said throughout the campaign that I am very passionate about certain issues. And that I want to fight for them," she said at the time. "So you know there're a lot of things that I feel deeply, strongly about. But not in a formal administrative capacity." And she's hoping her BFF Chelsea can give her plenty of tips!
