It seems new motherhood hasn't come totally naturally for Hoda Kotb!
During her SiriusXM radio show on Monday, April 17, the 52-year-old star candidly opened up about life with her baby daughter — and revealed she used YouTube to learn how to parent Haley when she first came home!
"I was literally YouTubing how to change a diaper, how to give a bath, how to burp. How do you know? I didn't know," Hoda confessed.
In mid-February, Hoda announced Haley's surprise adoption during a call into the Today show. "It's a baby girl! That little girl, Haley Joy Kotb... I'm crying... is my daughter! I adopted her," she said at the time.
Since then, Hoda has been so in love with baby Haley. "If anything is a perfect fit, this is... Nothing felt more right than her in my arms. I must have had a tiny hole in my heart that Haley filled perfectly," she said.
After a two-month-long maternity leave, Hoda returned to the Today show earlier this week to host the program's fourth hour alongside BFF Kathie Lee Gifford. "I've been a mess. I'm scared to be sitting here. I'm a little afraid that I might explode into tears," she said to her co-hosts on-air.
"There's something about when you look into the eyes of people who are just happy for you that makes me explode," she continued. "I feel so blessed to be able to have this great family and a little girl at home waiting for me."
Though Hoda legally adopted her daughter as a single mother, she recently revealed her longtime boyfriend, NYC financier Joel Schiffman, will help parent Haley and the little girl will call him "dad."
We're so happy for you, Hoda!
