"I love Brian," the 'Today Show' host, 50, said of her NBC colleague in a new interview. "I’ve known him for many years and I know that he is devastated after what happened."

During a news broadcast on Feb. 4, Brian admitted to fabricating portions of a story he told about his reporting experience during the Iraq war in 2003. Days later, online bloggers additionally claimed his 2005 coverage of Hurricane Katrina may have also been exaggerated.

"I think the whole news organization feels horrible about what happened," Hoda told 'FOX411' on Tuesday, Feb. 10. "We’re sort of going to let NBC deal with it. It is a news organization and it’s important to all of us and we’re going to see what they do next."
According to a statement released by NBC, Lester Holt, 55, will anchor 'NBC Nightly News' during Brian's six-month suspension as the network conducts an "ongoing" investigation into his past reporting.
