Now that Hoda Kotb has officially been named Today's newest co-anchor, many fans have been wondering — how much is Hoda's TV salary? According to Page Six, Hoda, 53, and her co-star Savannah Guthrie, 46, are currently both earning $7 million per year at NBC. Surprisingly, their reported salaries are a whopping $18 million less than what former Today star Matt Lauer, 60, earned before his firing for allegations of sexual misconduct.
Matt was reportedly making $25 million a year with his Today contract, which was renewed in 2016. He served as co-anchor on the hit morning show for 20 years before his sudden departure in late November. Savannah joined NBC in 2011 and later became a Today co-anchor in 2012. Though Hoda was just given the coveted co-anchor job on Tuesday, Jan. 2, she's been with the network for nearly 10 years since joining in 2008.

An NBC insider recently told Page Six that Hoda "isn't complaining" that her salary is much less than what Matt was previously earning. "She has landed the big job she always dreamed of, and most definitely deserves. Plus, Matt’s salary reflected the long time he was on the show — 25 years. If things go well, Hoda could ask for more next time if she re-ups her contract. But the figures underline the huge wage disparity at NBC News," the source said.
Following the exciting news of her promotion, Hoda confirmed to People that she's definitely "not making Matt Lauer money" with her new NBC contract. When asked if she'd earn close to Matt's yearly salary, Hoda candidly replied, "The answer is no — that’s not happening." Savannah chimed in to add, "For either of us."
"I think the whole money thing for me, I’ve always been sort of — I know it sounds ridiculous that I’m going to say this, but I really have done jobs I liked for the job I liked because I never wanted to be happy every other Friday on payday. Like, I didn’t want that to be the happy day. I wanted to feel good throughout. So no, I’m not making Matt Lauer money. Not even close," Hoda continued. As of 2017, Hoda's net worth is approximately $12 million while Savannah is worth around $2 million. Matt's net worth is a reported $60 million.
