On a hot and sunny Labor Day at the US Open in NYC, Today co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford, 62, and Hoda Kotb, 51, sat in a private box, watching the tennis matches with equally sunny smiles.
“Great day at [the] US Open with my Hoda Woman!” Kathie Lee shared at the Sept. 7 event.
It was good to see Kathie Lee — whose husband, NFL legend Frank Gifford, passed away from natural causes in their Greenwich, Conn., home on Aug. 9 at age 84 — so upbeat.

While she’s heartbroken over the loss of her true love, the secret to her newfound happiness could be found in the seat beside her at the stadium.
“Hoda has become Kathie Lee’s closest confidante, and they are each other’s support system,” an insider tells Closer. “She’s even stayed a few nights at Kathie Lee’s home.”
Bringing Kathie Lee to her Manhattan apartment to help redecorate and going to lunches after the show are part of Hoda’s plan to help Kathie Lee heal from the loss of her husband of nearly three decades, and reinforce her brave choice to return to Today just eight days after he died.
