Halle Berry Still Shocked By Her Pregnancy at 47: “I Was Premenopausal!”

It’s been seven months since Halle Berry welcomed a healthy baby boy with husband Olivier Martinez, but the 47-year-old is still dumbfounded she was able to get pregnant in the first place!

“They call it a geriatric pregnancy,” Halle told Ellen DeGeneres on the comedian’s talk show. “I was, you know, on my way…this is probably way TMI, but I was really, you know, kinda premenopausal so to have this happen was a huge [shock].”

The actress, who already has 6-year-old daughter Nahla with ex Gabriel Aubry, credits her oldest for making it happen.

“Nahla prayed and prayed for [brother Maceo] for like a year and a half — for a baby and a bunk bed — and she got both of those things,” the X-Men star revealed. “Only her prayers could have done this. I didn’t think it was possible at my age, honestly.”

But the brunette beauty — who’s been divorced twice before — has come to expect the unexpected.

“I mean, I didn’t think it was possible to have another baby and I thought for sure I had a need never to get married again. So, I’ve learned never to say never,” she said.

So now that Nahla has a sibling, what does she like to do with her little brother? “He’s like one of her dollies that came to life,” Halle shared. “All she wants to do is change his clothes. Like she’ll purposely throw something on his shirt and say, ‘Oh mommy, he’s got to change his shirt.'”

And now that she’s had both a boy and a girl, the star has found the biggest difference to be in breastfeeding, which she happily demonstrated for the studio audience!

“When I would put Nahla on the boob she would go (light sucking sound) a nice little girly suck with him it’s like (chomping sound) he’s like sucking the life out of me,” she laughed.

Ellen jokingly responded, “That was TMI in my opinion, but okay.”
