We never thought we'd ever mention Gwyneth Paltrow's name and food stamps in the same sentence — but here we are!
As part of the #FoodBankNYCChallenge, the 42-year-old has agreed to live on food stamps for seven days, which is a total of $29 for the week and averages out to $1.38 per meal.

The mother-of-two was challenged by Mario Batali, who is creating awareness to budget cuts affecting the Food Bank of New York City. On their official website, it states, "Congress cut food stamps twice since 2013, and soup kitchens and food pantries saw an immediate increase in visitors. New Yorkers can't afford any cuts to Food Stamps."

It will be a stark contrast to what her lifestyle website, Goop, promotes, which regularly features high-end luxury items such as $350 tanks.
Whether she'll make it through the entire week without cheating has yet to be determined, but we have to hand it to her, we are pleasantly surprised that she's even attempting to make it through the challenge!
