As she begins her first season as a coach on the hit singing competition, The Voice, Gwen Stefani admits she was initially worried about working with husband Gavin Rossdale, whom she brought in to help mentor her team.
"It was just awkward," she explains of the first couple days on set. "We've only collaborated on making babies."
Luckily, the Bush frontman managed to eventually calm his wife's nerves rather than agitate them! "It was just so fun," Gwen shares of working with her rocker beau. "It was right at the beginning of the show and I was just getting my feet wet, so having him there was kind of rad."
During a recent appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the singer also admitted she wasn't so keen on having a third child, but eldest son Kingston prayed hard for another sibling.
“He asked me, ‘Mom, are you going to have a baby? I want you to have a baby,’” Gwen recalled. “I was like, ‘It’s over. We’re not having any more. This is our family.’"
But Kingston had faith. "[He] has a direct link to God, basically,” she told host Seth Meyers. “[He started to pray,] ‘Dear God, please let my mom have a baby. Please, God! Please let my mom have a baby.'"
Before long, the 8-year-old's prayers were answered! "I swear to you, he prayed every single night, and four weeks later, I was pregnant,” the Grammy winner shared. “I brought out a cake after we found out...and he goes, ‘Ahh! I prayed for that!'”
Gwen said the arrival of baby brother Apollo Bowie Flynn last February has made Kingston a firm believer in the power of prayer. “He prays for everything. He’s like, ‘Please, God! Please let me have another cupcake. He really believes.”
