In a new video, a family captures their reunion with 8-year-old Irish Terrier Duffy, who was seeing them again for the first time after undergoing eye surgery.

The formerly blind pooch had lost his eyesight after being diagnosed with diabetes. "Within about 3-5 months he went from a totally normal 8-year-old dog to a dog who was completely blind," Duffy's owner writes on Reddit.

"It broke my heart seeing this dog I grew up with…running into things, not being able to recognize me," he continues.

The nearly one-and-a-half minute clip shows the rescue dog bound into the waiting room to greet his eager family. The baby talk and kisses are soon to follow!

"He's a trooper," the owner writes.
