Exclusive PhotosGo Inside “So You Think You Can Dance” Star Mary Murphy’s San Diego Beach Oasis!
Mary Murphy, TV host, choreographer and So You Think You Can Dance judge, gave Closer Weekly a look inside the five-bedroom, five-and-a-half bath San Diego oasis she calls home!
“I always wanted a ranch home and I’ve never been able to have one. I was searching for months and driving my real estate agent nuts!” Mary shares in the new issue of Closer.
“I’d circled around to this house three times over a six-month period, and finally it came down to a price range I was happy with.” But, she adds, “It came bare — no shutters, no gutters, no grass, sitting on dirt, but I knew it had potential.”
Now, as she begins her 9th season as judge on the hit dance show, she also celebrates her second anniversary in the once “bare” house she has made her prefect home.
“I could not be happier!” Mary shares, and reveals one of the best features from the transformation — a back patio with lounge chairs, a TV viewing area and a grill beside a long pool and connected spa. She calls this her “retreat space.”
“I get the ocean breeze and I’ll sleep out there sometimes,” she reveals to Closer. “I’ll turn on the fountain; the noise of it is so serene and relaxing.”
Double doors connecting to the backyard lead straight into the master bedroom — her favorite spot. “I love the colors in there, the purples, the whole Egyptian motif,” she shares. “Maybe I was an Egyptian queen in another life!”
