Good Morning America's chief meteorologist, Ginger Zee, is set to host the third annual RUN10 FEED10 Charity Race in NYC, which aims to fight hunger in America!
Women's Health magazine and FEED, a social business that provides school meals around the world, are partnering to sponsor this year's event on Sept. 21. Thousands of participants are expected to run down the West Side Highway for a timed 10K race.
In the two years since it began, RUN10 FEED10 has raised more than 2.5 million meals and are aiming to double that number in 2014!
If you're not in the New York area, you can still participate in one of the following cities: Minneapolis, Denver, Houston, LA, Phoenix, Atlanta, Boston, Washington D.C., Chicago and San Francisco.
Interested individuals can also contribute by registering on RUN10FEED10.com and using the RUN10 FEED10 training app to plot and run their own 10K.
To sign up for any of the races happening in those 11 cities, head over to the website listed above! Registration includes your race entry, a donation of 10 meals and a limited edition FEED bag. And surprise! We have a special discount code just for Closer readers that will take $5 off your entrance fee. Simply type in R10F10PR while registering.
For a chance to win an awesome gift bag from the event — which includes a hairdryer, exercise DVD and plenty of other cool prizes — share why you plan on running the race in the comments section below!
