George Takei has reportedly been treated for skin cancer. The actor, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu on the series Star Trek, attended the Voices on Point Charity Gala Sept. 14 with a bandage on his left cheek.
According to British newspaper The Sun, George confirmed, "I went to my doctor for my physical last week and he detected an early skin cancer here. He cut it out and that's why I'm wearing this."
He also joked the band-aid had nothing to do with his husband, Brad Altman, who attended as his date. "Let me assure you, my husband did not knock me out," he said of his partner of 27 years.
The couple married in 2008 and celebrated their sixth anniversary at the gala. Though George recently admitted that the pair argue, they always make up before they head to bed.
"We have a pact that we've made. When you're together, you're gonna have differences, you're gonna have quibbles, sometimes arguments. But no matter what, every night before we go to bed, we kiss each other," the 77-year-old shared.
George also posted a photo of the duo on their wedding day to celebrate the marriage milestone:
