Heartbreaking new details about George Michael's sudden death have been revealed.
In a candid new interview, the late singer's boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, revealed George died alone in his bed on Sunday, Dec. 25.
"We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went around there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed," Fawaz recently told The Daily Telegraph.
The former Wham singer's publicist previously announced his death from heart failure at age 53 on Christmas Day. "It is with great sadness that we can confirm our beloved son, brother, and friend George passed away peacefully at home over the Christmas period," the rep said in a statement to the BBC.

"The family would ask that their privacy be respected at this difficult and emotional time. There will be no further comment at this state," the message continued.
George and his boyfriend, Fawaz — an Australian celebrity hairstylist and freelance photographer — began dating in 2012. During Fawaz's sit-down with The Daily Telegraph, he stated the music icon was "looking forward to Christmas, and so was I," prior to his passing.
"Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was," he continued. "He was a beautiful person."

Following George's death, Fawaz took to Twitter to pay tribute to his late love. "It’s a [Christmas] I will never forget, finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning," he wrote. "I will never stop missing you."
George's ex-boyfriend Kenny Goss similarly paid homage to the "Careless Whisper" singer in a statement to People. "I’m heartbroken," he said of his "dear friend and longtime love."
"He was a major part of my life and I loved him very, very much," Goss added. The duo previously dated from 1996 until 2009.
