The 92-year-old former president was hospitalized over the weekend with a "mild case" of pneumonia, his spokesperson revealed on Tuesday, April 18.

George will now remain at Houston Methodist Hospital "for further observation while he regains his strength," the rep added.
Barbara Bush's husband entered the hospital on Friday, April 15 because he was suffering from a persistent cough that "prevented him from getting proper rest," according to George's spokesperson.

"President Bush is in very good spirits," the rep added.

The 41st POTUS was also recently hospitalized in mid-January for bronchitis and pneumonia. His 91-year-old wife, Barbara, was subsequently admitted to the hospital for "fatigue and coughing."

"President Bush recently declared that he wants to live to be 100, and being a goal oriented person I would never bet against him. He has rebounded nicely from his recent [January] hospitalization," Bush spokesman Jim McGrath recently told People.
