James Bond actress Britt Ekland doesn’t mind admitting her regret over getting plastic surgery and unlike many of her peers, the actress hasn’t defended her decision to go under the knife 20 years ago.

“I’ve realized this is just not me, but it is what it is and you have to live with it,” Ekland reveals in a new interview. “Whatever I did 15 or 20 years ago, I’d never have done now. I turned 50, and you get insecure.”

The 71-year-old shares that her current career path has made her appreciate the value of growing old gracefully. “The funny thing is for the last few years my career has been in the theatre, and natural expression is seen as a good thing.

“I think people look so much better if they don’t have surgery,” she adds.

But despite her surgery regrets, the Swedish beauty has a lot to be grateful for as 2013 comes to a close.

She welcomed her first grandson and shares how she wanted to “scream the good news” when she found out she would be a grandmother.

“As soon as they told me it was okay to announce, I went into full-on ‘grandma mode,’” says Eckland.

“When I first saw the baby he was so tiny. I thought ‘Oh my God, maybe I’ll break him.’ Within one day, my instincts came back and I knew exactly what to do,” she tells Hello! magazine.

Eckland’s last acting gig was a guest-spot on television series “Lexx” in 2002.
