‘Flip or Flop’ Star Christina El Moussa Calls 2016 “Crazy” on Instagram Amid Divorce From Tarek El Moussa

Christina El Moussa is happy to kiss 2016 goodbye and say hello to new beginnings!

The Flip or Flop star took to Instagram on Saturday, Dec. 31 to pen last year farewell — and referred to the past 12 months as “crazy” amid her highly-publicized divorce from her husband, Tarek El Moussa, whom she previously married in 2009.

“2016 has been a crazy year of highs and lows. A lot of things have changed but one thing will always remain a constant in my life and that is the love I have for our children. Their genuine happy spirit is always the light at the end of the tunnel,” the HGTV star wrote on the social media platform next to a collage of her top nine photos from the year. Christina and Tarek are parents to two young kids, daughter Taylor, 6, and son Brayden, 16 months, who both appeared in the series of pics shared on New Year’s Eve.

“May 2017 be a start to a fabulous year ahead and bring happiness, peace, joy and new adventures to you all,” the 33-year-old concluded.

The couple — who co-host the hit HGTV show Flip or Flop — announced their separation after seven years of marriage with a joint statement on Dec. 12.

“We will continue to work through this process civilly and cooperatively, and plan to continue our professional life together,” the former duo said.

As previously reported, according to TMZ, the duo’s marriage began to publicly crumble in May when police responded to “a call of a possibly suicidal male with a gun” at the couple’s Orange County, CA home. Eyewitnesses reportedly told authorities Tarek fled the scene with a gun while Christina ran from the house crying and shaking. In their statement, the two simply referred to the May incident as an “unfortunate misunderstanding.”
