This is the sweetest thing we’ve ever heard. Farrah Fawcett died from anal cancer in 2009, and even though it’s been eight years since her tragic passing, her friends are still keeping the late actress’ memory alive.

At the Wallis Annenberg Center for the Performing Arts in Beverly Hills for The Farrah Fawcett Foundation’s Tex-Mex Fiesta Honoring Stand Up to Cancer in early September, the Charlie’s Angels star’s closest peers exclusively opened up to Closer Weekly about what a great person she was. “Farrah was a good friend, and I was with her at the beginning, middle and end of her journey,” Dyan Cannon, 80, shared. “She always had stars in her eyes [and] wasn’t jaded. I hope the spirit of love that is here tonight lifts everyone up.”

George Hamilton, 78, wishes that one day good will come out of Farrah’s death. “We lost a friend, and it’s a fight we all have now. I think [a cure] is on the horizon,” the actor told Closer.

Farrah sadly succumbed to anal cancer on June 25, 2009, after a long battle. She was 62 years old at the time of her passing. You will forever be missed, Farrah.
