Helena Bonham Carter and Tim Burton are quite the friendly exes!

Though the pair — who are parents to two children but never married — broke up after 13 years together in 2014, Helena, 49, has revealed the pair still have a “precious” relationship.

“I could write a thesis on what’s happened and it is all-absorbing when a relationship breaks down, but I think we’re coming through it. I think we’ll have something very precious still,” the Harry Potter actress confessed in the November issue of Red magazine.

Helena and Tim, 57, first met while filming the 2001 flick Planet of the Apes and later welcomed two kids, son Billy Raymond, 12, and daughter Nell, 7, together. They announced their amicable split in 2014.

“Our relationship was always somewhat special, and I think it’ll always remain special. We did find each other. And really, the mark of a successful relationship shouldn’t be whether you’re there forever after. Sometimes you’re not meant to be forever together,” Helena added of their relationship.
