Evangeline Lilly may be a successful actress and author, but her favorite role is being a mother to her three-year-old son, Kahekili.
"Becoming a mother has really helped me put my feet on the ground and given me a very powerful sense of self and a powerful sense of priority in life,” the 35-year-old actress said in a new interview with 'Ocean Drive' magazine.
"It helps put everything in perspective when things get stressful or when there’s a demand or pressure on me," she said of motherhood. “At the end of the day, it’s our family, it’s being a mother and a partner and seeing love all around.”

The former 'Lost' star and her partner, Norman Kali, are eager to expand their family, Evangeline said, but the couple are unfortunately struggling to adopt a child.
“What I wanted originally was six kids. I frickin’ love being pregnant. I’m one of the lucky women who just had a blissful pregnancy, but I wanted to adopt four,” she shared. “My partner and I have really been through the wringer in the adoption world and it’s hard, so we’ll see what happens.”

Though they haven't been able to bring a sibling for Kahekili into their happy home just yet, Evangeline noted she was far from giving up on adoption.
“Life is magically beautiful and it brings you what is perfect," she told the magazine.
