They have more in common than you might think. Both Kate Middleton and the Crown Princess Letizia of Spain (soon-to-be-queen) were both commoners before marrying into European royalty. Let's see if their styles have any similarities!

Wedding Dresses

To marry Prince William of Wales in April 2011, Kate chose her favorite British label, Alexander McQueen, to design her lace, long-sleeved gown, which featured a 9-foot-train. She topped off her look with the Halo Scroll Tiara, on loan from Queen Elizabeth II.

Letizia wed Crown Prince Felipe of Spain on May 22, 2004, in a long-sleeved gown featuring a 15-foot-train. The Prussian Diamond Tiara she wore was on loan from her mother-in-law, Queen Sofia.

Red Carpet Glam

Both ladies know how to make a statement when attending a black-tie event, sporting gorgeous designer threads. Kate wore this lilac gown from British label Alexander McQueen to the 2011 BAFTA Brits to Watch Event in Los Angeles.

Letizia chose a stunning red gown with ruffled skirt for a 2010 concert celebrating the impending marriage of Crown Princess Victoria of Sweden.

Casual Wear

These princesses sure know how to rock a pair of denim! Kate chose a jean and sweater combination, complete with sneakers, for an informal stop on her recent New Zealand tour.

Letizia wore jeans and a t-shirt, accessorized with a leather jacket, to visit her father-in-law, King Juan Carlos of Spain, in the hospital last year.

Official Visits

Kate tends to be a bit more formal when it comes to her royal duties. She chose this bright red Catherine Walker coat and Gina Foster pillbox hat for the first day of her and Prince William's official tour to New Zealand in April 2014.

Letizia wore a tailored jacket and skirt for her and Crown Prince Felipe's official visit to the Balearic Islands in 2005.

Pregnancy Clothes

Kate favored clean-cut coats while pregnant with Prince George in 2013. For a time, you could hardly see the Duchess' royal baby bump!

Letizia too was a fan of tailored coats while pregnant in 2005 and 2006, but as her belly got bigger, she opted for comfortable wrap dresses that had a little more give.

For Prince George's christening in Oct. 2013, Kate chose an ivory Alexander McQueen coat dress, which matched her son's lace gown.

To christen daughter Leonor in Jan. 2006, Letizia also chose an ivory suit to match her baby.
