In a new interview, high-fashion designers Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana made several controversial statements in regard to children born via IVF — and offended Elton John (and many others) in the process.
During the sit-down, the pair stated they adamantly oppose gay adoption and said children born with the help of "chemistry" are inherently "synthetic," prompting Elton to blast the designers' hurtful comments on his Instagram page.
"How dare you refer to my beautiful children as 'synthetic.' And shame on you for wagging your judgmental little fingers at IVF — a miracle that has allowed legions of loving people, both straight and gay, to fulfill their dream of having children," the 67-year-old began.

"Your archaic thinking is out of step with the times, just like your fashions. I shall never wear Dolce and Gabbana ever again. #BoycottDolceGabbana," Elton — who welcomed sons Zachary, 4, and Elijah, 2, with partner David Furnish, 52, via a surrogate mother — added.

Over the weekend, the designing duo said, "We oppose gay adoptions. The only family is the traditional one. No chemical offsprings and rented uterus: life has a natural flow, there are things that should not be changed."

Dolce added, "You are born to a mother and a father — or at least that's how it should be. I call children of chemistry synthetic children. Rented uterus, semen chosen from a catalog."
Though Dolce, 56, and Gabbana, 52, are both openly gay, they've similarly spoken out about their objection to gay marriage in the past.
The designers spoke to Italy's 'Panorama' magazine.
