Did Ellen Pompeo recently get plastic surgery? The 47-year-old actress rose to fame on the hit medical drama Grey's Anatomy and has now played Dr. Meredith Grey for 12 years. Understandably, Ellen looks much different today than when she first starred on Grey's — but is it possible the reason for her changing looks is the result of surgery?
"The only thing that I can catch is possibly a facelift and a neck lift," Dr. Vartan Mardirossian, board certified facial plastic surgeon and world renowned facial feminization surgeon, exclusively told Closer Weekly of Ellen's appearance. "Her neck and jawline show an extraordinary smoothness and tightness after so many years. Also, likely fillers to cheeks and lips, [but] no Botox," Dr. Mardirossian continued.

Dr. Andrew Miller, board certified facial plastic surgeon, agreed that while Ellen might have had work done, she hasn't gotten Botox. "Her eyelids look naturally aged and you can see some wrinkles on the forehead and crow's feet, so no Botox," he said.
In the past, Ellen has candidly spoken out about aging in Hollywood and the influence it has had on her career. She recently opened up to People about the difficulty of seeing herself grow older onscreen on Grey's.
"Watching myself age on TV is miserable. To be honest, it’s the toughest part of my job," she admitted. "But as uncomfortable as watching myself age is, I don’t think focusing on physical beauty is necessarily the best thing for your mind. It’s a natural thing that we all do, but I don’t think it’s the healthiest thing. The older you get, the more you realize life isn’t about your looks. Everyone ages, and it’s okay."
