Do you know everything there is to know about this Grey's Anatomy star? Ellen Pompeo, 47, stars as Dr. Meredith Grey in the hit medical drama that has developed a cult-like following over the years. Though many fans have gotten to know and love the character she plays over the years, there are still questions as to who Ellen actually is as a person off-screen.
Though she's been the main staple of the show since 2005, Ellen has expressed little interest in acting beyond her Grey's repertoire. "I definitely feel myself transitioning. I don't find acting terribly empowering," she told Entertainment Weekly in the past.

So when can we expect the titular character's departure from the show? That's currently undetermined, but one thing that Ellen has made clear is that when she's ready to go, she will go.
"Shonda [Rhimes] and I have both said that when I’m ready to stop, we’re going to stop the show," she revealed to Variety earlier this year. "The story is about Meredith Grey’s journey and when I’m done, the show will end."
Yes — that means that when Ellen's done, the show is done. "As far as how much longer I want to do the show, I’m mulling that over as we speak," she added.
Now that you know the near-future of the Grey's star, keep reading to find out more interesting facts about her, including whether or not she is married and what kind of diet she has.
Yes — Ellen married Chris Ivery in 2007 after four years of dating. They met in a grocery store in 2003 and the rest is history. Chris penned the song "Cheers (Drink to That)," which is sung by Rihanna. He also serves as a music producer and has a net worth of $10 million.
Ellen and Chris have three children together, Stella Luna Pompeo Ivery, 8, Sienna May Pompeo Ivery, 3, and Eli Christopher Pompeo Ivery, 11 months. Ellen's second baby girl Sienna May was born via anonymous surrogate.
She was the highest paid actress of 2013. According to Celebrity Net Worth, the prime-time TV star is worth $35 million and garners $350,000 per episode.
Ellen does not follow a fully vegan lifestyle, though she recently addressed the rumor on Twitter last year, saying that she tries to eat less animal by-products than she used to. "For the record I am not completely vegan but my eyes have been opened," she wrote, "and I eat ALOT less animal products change doesn't have to be extreme (sic)."

Though Ellen has been married to her husband Chris since 2007, the couple has fallen victim to many separation and dating rumors. In 2014, Meredith Grey — as she's known on TV — was spotted getting cozy with rapper Drake at a Nets basketball game, which sparked both separation and dating rumors. And though she's also been seen on social media busting a move to Drake's song with DJ Khaled "For Free" it appears she is still happily married and not planning on leaving her husband for a Canadian rapper anytime soon.
Though Ellen sang in the musical episode of Grey's Anatomy, she admits that she's not really a singer. "They made me sing," she said. "I didn't have a choice."
