At 53-years-old, former "Dukes of Hazzard" star John Schneider has an extremely impressive résumé in Hollywood.
But in the new issue of Closer, John says one person has taught him how to make his dreams a reality: Tyler Perry.
“I’ve always been ambitious. I’ve always believed all these things can happen, but now I’ve seen it. … I’ve seen the business end of how to do it, with what Tyler’s done in Atlanta and the wonderful team he’s put together,” he tells Closer, after working on his latest role in OWN’s Tyler Perry’s "The Haves and the Have Nots."
And what Tyler has taught him was just what he needed to fulfill his childhood dream of making his own movies!
“My goal since I was eight years old, was to make my own movies,” John reveals. He recently wrote and directed a horror movie, "Smothered."
“So if 'Smothered' works, it will finance the ones that are coming down the road. We’ll make them in Louisiana, at 'John Schneider Studios.'”
John tells the mag, “I’m to the best of my ability mirroring [Tyler’s] business model so that I can get these movies done."
