Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson was once married to a member of the Royal family, but battling paparazzi and being in the public eye wasn't the only challenge she faced.
Since the age of 12, the former wife of Britain's Prince Andrew admits she's been a "comfort eater." And before her recent 55-pound weight loss, she felt particularly "miserable."
"I got to a point where I just couldn't bare looking at myself any minute longer," she told Matt Lauer on 'The Today Show.' "I was 190 pounds a year ago and I was miserable. You look at the top of the mountain, you think you're never going to get there."

Now, the mother-of-two is "fit at 55" and feeling better than ever! She credits the transformation to "good nutrition" after years of fluctuating between sizes. Though, she states, there are worse things she could've turned to than food.

"Had I not just chosen food as my friend, I would have chosen something else. I mean a lot of people turn to shopping, alcohol, smoking, any other addiction," she said on 'Today'.
"My addiction was food," she continued. "I used it to suppress my feelings and therefore every time I went through something—a salacious lie the media might tell about me—I ate to compensate."
