Poor Drew Barrymore!
In a candid new interview, the 41-year-old actress surprisingly revealed she "almost died" while filming her new show, Santa Clarita Diet — how scary!
In the Netflix series — which recently premiered on Friday, Feb. 3 — Drew plays Sheila Hammond, a suburban mom and real estate agent who goes through a zombie-like transformation and must start eating humans to survive.
While rehearsing one scene in which Sheila jumps on a man's back to kill him, Drew accidentally fell and hit her head on the concrete floor. "[The actor] was a wide guy and Drew didn’t get a great grip," the show's creator, Victor Fresco, told Us Weekly of the ordeal.

"Then he held onto her legs as she slipped off, and so she just pivoted down all the way and just hit her head. I thought, 'That's it. We've killed Drew Barrymore,'" Fresco continued.
"It was f--king terrifying. It was very serious," Drew said of the incident while recently promoting Santa Clarita Diet in NYC. "I've never had a feeling like that in my life."
According to the mom-of-two — Drew shares two daughters, Olive, 4, and Frankie, 2, with ex-husband Will Kopelman — paramedics then took her to a nearby hospital to receive MRIs and CAT scans.

Filming on the Netflix show — which also stars Timothy Olyphant as Sheila's husband, Joel! — was halted for one week as Drew recovered from her injury. "Coming back, it was scary. Everyone was really tense," she said of returning to work.
"I love that this group of people, who aren't family necessarily, are coming together and care about my well-being," Drew recalled. "It was a nice moment where you see the good in people."
We're so glad Drew is ok!
