It seems Don Rickles left the world not with a joke, but a sweet tribute to his wife of more than 50 years, Barbara Rickles.
The iconic comedian sadly died on Thursday, April 6 at age 90 from kidney failure with none other than his lady by his side.
In Don's last-ever tweet, posted on Saturday, March 11, the star wrote, "We are celebrating our 52nd Wedding Anniversary March 14th. Happy Anniversary my dear wife, Barbara. You are my life.❤️❌⭕Pussycat (Me)." So heartbreaking.
Don and Barbara previously married in 1965 and are parents to a son Larry who sadly passed away in 2011, and a daughter Mindy.
In a previous exclusive interview with Closer Weekly, Don revealed the secret to the couple's happy and lasting marriage after all these years!
"The main thing is the friendship and loyalty you develop. When things are down, you have someone at your side who believes in you. And when things are up, you have great times — and that’s been our marriage," he confessed.
Prior to his passing, Don also gave his final interview to Closer Weekly, where he gushed that he no plans to retire — even at age 90.

"Honestly, I didn’t realize it — all of a sudden I was 90," he told Closer. "The years skipped by quickly. When it happened, I said, ‘Where did the time go?’"
He then opened up about his life experiences as a comedian and actor. "Whether it’s 10 people or 300 people, an audience is still an audience," the Hollywood icon said. "If people keep showing up to see you, then it’s still a high."
"At 90, I’m still going pretty damn good," he gushed to Closer. "And it’s nice because I have no plans to slow down." We'll miss you, Don!
